This week I decided to try a new type of dessert that has always been a classic at my house, but has come out of a box...which let me tell you those are sometimes the best ones. Though, I wanted to try this new recipe to get a new go to classic treat that is super quick!

What goes better than gooey caramel and a rich, deep chocolate brownie, that is almost like fudge? I'll tell you...nothing can really beat these Caramel Dunked Brownies!

As a quick recipe that takes very few ingredients and tastes divine, you cannot go wrong with these...and pair it with a warm glass of apple cider, the best treat to have going into November!

Caramel Dunked Brownies

15 minutes to make, 30 to bake, 1 hour to chill

~20 brownies

Ingredients

1/2 cup of melted unsalted butter (one stick)

1 cup white sugar

3/4 cup unsweetened coca powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 eggs

2/3 cup AP flour

1 cup of chocolate chips/chunks/nuts

1 jar of salted caramel

Steps:

Preheat oven to 350°

Melt one stick of butter (1/2 cup) and put in a large bowl. Add in 1 cup of white sugar, 3/4 cup cocoa powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Combine these till a grainy batter is formed

Add in 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract and 2 eggs. Mix this until a thick and glossy batter is formed and the batter looks homogenous, all the same throughout

Next add the 2/3 cup of AP flour and fold till the flour is just incorporated. Then add in the 1 cup of chocolate chips or nuts or any filler you want or skip this step too if you would like! Fold the batter, again, till just combines

Lightly grease a 8x8 pan or any size you would like, but know the timing will be different if you use a smaller/bigger pan. Pour in the batter, it will be thick, and spread it evenly in the pan

Put the pan into the oven for 15 minutes, test the brownies by putting a knife or toothpick into the middle and pulling straight out to see if it comes away clean. Keep adding 5 minutes if the knife comes out with batter still on it. At 30 minutes, pull the brownies and let them to continue to bake in the pan

After cooling for about 5 minutes, pour the jar of salted caramel on top of the brownies, evenly spreading it. Continue to let the brownies cool for 30 minutes, then put them in the freezer for another 30 minutes

Once the brownies and caramel are set, pull out, cut up, and enjoy these gooey treats!
